Time To Start Looking For A Maternity Swimsuit

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Women's Issues

Swimsuit season is fast approaching and with Spring Break coming up many expecting moms may find themselves heading to some warm beaches for vacation destinations. Whether you are headed to sunny beach destination or just signing up for a water aerobics class, there is a good chance you will need a maternity swimsuit at some point in your pregnancy. There is also a good chance that you will not, and should not, try to fit into your pre-pregnancy swimsuit. Fortunately there are a lot of cute styles on the market to choose from in maternity swimwear. Here are a few ideas:

Halterkinis and Tankinis and are wonderful alternative to a solid one-piece or an all out bare all bikini (which most of us don’t have the guts to wear when expecting - or otherwise!). The Halterkini and Tankini or some other word derivative with more or less the same meaning is a 2 piece suit with either an adjustable halter tie top or tank style straps and a belly skimming top. Bottoms are usually below the belly and sometimes have adjustable side ties - which is good if your hips seem to be growing at the rate of your belly during your pregnancy! The Halter and Tankinis usually come in a wide variety of solids and patterns. Sometimes the bottoms are a solid with the top a pattern which gives a cute accent. Both of these styles of maternity swimwear allow you to be a bit flirtatious and stylish while not flashing a big pregnant belly to the world if that’s not your thing.

The Babydoll style is an even more modest yet fashionable style to choose from if you want full belly coverage and more bottom and hip coverage too. Prego Maternity Swimwear has both a Tank BabyDoll and Halter BabyDoll styles that come in a wide array of colors and patterns. Both of these styles provide maximum bust support and have high fitting bottoms that fully cover your belly and a dress style top that covers your bottom too without looking prudish.

If you are looking for flattering tummy coverage in a pool lounge maternity swimsuit, then the Strapless Mini is a good option. The mini comes in a variety of solids and patterns and often has a removable halter string for a little extra protection if you do decide to brave the waves or swim a few laps. The mini often gives more bottom coverage with the top and has separate bottoms.

If you do need a good solid one piece maternity swimsuit, The Prego Empire Tank gives amazing bust support and a real sports fit while still allowing plenty of belly stretch. If you are looking for a cute pattern in a one-piece, the Maternal America Halter Keyhole Swimsuit has come back this season in a super cute Turquoise pattern as well as in the bestselling black and brown solids. The Keyhole Swimsuit is an excellent hybrid of a fashion swimsuit with a flattering look which you can wear to swim.

Finally if you are brave enough and fit enough to wear a bikini when pregnant, you must invest in a maternity bikini because nothing else will fit completely right. Maternity bikinis have adjustable tie halters with a good amount of support and little extra room in the bust. The bottoms are stretchier than a non-pregnancy suit.

So whatever your maternity swimwear personality, there is a flattering style out there for you and probably in your choice of color or pattern. Most maternity swimsuits are made with plenty of spandex to take you through your entire pregnancy. Padded bras are usually preferable and add a little extra support for maternity swimwear, so check your online product descriptions or call the store if you are shopping online for your purchase. So, have fun in the sun and don’t wait until the last minute to find your perfect suit.

Getting in Shape for Swimsuit Season

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Sports And Fitness

It’s that time of year again. The time of year many are not ready for, but there are some realistic workout tips and swimsuit tips that can help prepare for this summer.

Burn Extra Calories

In order to get rid of the extra winter layer of fat try including some cardio in daily activities. Once the extra pounds or inches are burned, abdominal muscles from the previous summer will reappear. Swimming, biking and running will also help burn extra calories.

Firming Up Stomach Muscles

If abdominal muscles are not as toned as you wish, there are multiple abdominal exercises that target core muscles. Focusing on different areas with exercises that work upper and lower abs, obliques and back muscles will help firm up stomach muscles more quickly.

One of the nicest things about ab workouts is that they do not require a gym membership. Abdominal exercises can be done in the comfort and privacy of one’s home. The most common equipment used for abdominal workouts at home are the medicine ball and stability ball. Even without the assistance of a medicine ball, there are a variety of other items that can be used to assist in abdominal exercises. For example, instead of using weights for crunch exercises, find a heavy book such as a dictionary. It will add more resistance to the workout and make ab muscles work harder and become much stronger.

Tone Muscles

If arm and leg muscles are a concern, hit the gym and focus on toning those muscle groups. There are many, simple exercises to incorporate into a workout routine that will help fix any problem area.

Remember to work on a number of muscle areas including back, shoulders, triceps and biceps for upper-body strength. To tone the lower-body, focus on calf muscles, thighs and hamstrings. Overall toning and fitness is key to looking great in a swimsuit.

Eat a Health Diet

Now that the cold months and Holidays are over, it is time to start eating healthier, lighter foods.

Several simple tips for eating health this summer are:

- Plant a vegetable garden - it is a great way to eat health, safe and inexpensive foods.

- Eat fruits and vegetables for snacks rather than cookies and potato chips.

- Cook meals at home rather than rushing through the drive-thru and eating a cheeseburger and fries.

- Cook meals that are healthier, have more nutrients and are lower in calories.

The most important thing is to have a balanced diet so that the nutrients eaten provide the needed energy for workouts.

Swimsuit Styles for Women

Check into what colors and patterns flatter your body frame and skin tone as well. The most important things when wearing a swimsuit is to be comfortable and confident.

2009 Newborn Baby Clothing Trends

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Fashion

Trends were not something you easily associated with Newborn baby clothing. In fact, for they were thought to be little more than comfortable cotton bundles that were easy to wrap around the unsuspecting baby. However, those days are gone and you cannot afford to turn a blind eye to the changing trends in newborn baby clothes anymore.

Every season comes with a new twist on traditional newborn clothes, or introduces something absolutely new to the stores. 2009 Newborn Baby clothing trends also have lots of new items to offer. Some of the latest trends in newborn baby clothing can already be identified. Bold prints are all the rage this year, and the children dresses could also not escape that influence. Similarly, organic dresses are also enjoying great popularity among children.

Newborn Dresses and Baby Swimsuits

Some things never change, and the good old fashioned ‘dress’ still remains the favorite for newborns – the easy to maneuver single piece outfit held together by an easy to maneuver ribbon. Babies **** it when their clothes cling too close to their bodies, and do not give enough space for their skin to breathe. Dresses are the best clothes to suit that need. However, there are great color variations that have been introduced in the dresses for newborn babies. Some of the most popular prints of 2009 are:

Floral Printed Dress

Watercolor Floral Dress

Dancing Shell Bubble Dress

Polka Dots

Equally popular are the baby swimsuit dress sets, particularly for little girls. Some of the most popular swimsuits are:

Pink Puppy Swimsuit and Coverup set

Ducklings Baby Swimsuit

Tulips Apron Back Swimsuit

Clothing Trends for Newborn Girls

Every occasion needs an appropriate cloth, and it is as true for your baby as for you. Therefore, if you want to prepare your newborn for a social occasion, you may have to think beyond the dresses, beautiful though they are. The babydoll dresses and the Princess sets were always popular for girls. The latest addition is the peasant dress. One of the most popular clothing trends for baby girls is the tunic and leggings set. Some of the popular tunic and legging combinations for the season are are:

Little Sprout Tunic and Legging

Chiffon Tunic and Legging

Bunny Swing

Similarly, Capri sets with both dresses and tunics are extremely popular too.

Clothing Trends for Newborn Boys

Fashion for your newborn boys is also not what it used to be, miniature sets of adult dresses. They are designed, produced and tailor made particularly with children in mind. Little boys, you will find, can be extremely fastidious about their dresses. Onezies have always been extremely popular with young boys. Some of the most popular onezies are:

Black Kiss Onezie

Grey Police Onezie

Grey Pink Floyd Onezies

Latest Fashion Ideas in Newborn Baby Clothes

Apart from the fact that your baby girl looks hip in these clothes, she can also spend a lot of time simply gazing at the psychedelic and colorful sleeves of her dresses. Bold caftans are extremely popular this season.

Everything is Fashion, Everything is a New Trend Especially on the Beach

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Fashion

There are lots of fashion accessories that became protagonists on the beach. Even a plain one-piece with some particular tangles can become fashion; not to talk about bikini and bathing suit. A lot of shops even suggest different matches for the two-pieces swim suit. The bra can be triangle-shaped, padded, strap or strapless, halter neck. The bra can be matched just with slip or culottes, short pants. You can also choose the colors altogether. A red bra with white polka-dots can be matched with white panties with red polka-dots. On the swimsuit there could be also bows, thongs, wristbands and ****** pockets. A fashion accessory that can match with the swimsuit, both one-piece, two-pieces and bikini, is the sarong. Color-matching with the swimsuit, it can be bought together with it as a complete set. There are many kind of sarongs, some of them seem to be long skirts, other are triangle-shaped so they just cover the bottom and the legs right in a triangular way. In this way, the tip of the triangle on one side covers the knee and on the other side half thigh. Among beach fashion accessories and beach wear, we can find also the flip-flops, back to the stage with thousands of different models and colors, according to the selected swimsuit.

We can’t forget toe nails, that have to be always clean and it’s better if an esthetician often takes care of them maybe during a relaxing pedicure session. To be really fashionable and always color-matching, it would be very nice to change every day the color of your toe nails polish, according to the swimsuit you are going to wear. Now let’s talk about the beach towel, where there should be printed subjects from beach characters (such as fishes, boats, ships), to natural subjects (such as landscapes, animals) to be really trendy. It’s better if it’s a big size towel, made of a very good terry cloth and possibly matching with an air pad to use as headrest. Even creams can be categorized as beach fashion: more and more we all want to get a tan so we buy solar body creams, face creams and after sun creams to refresh the skin and give it a sigh of relief. All these creams will have a variable level of protection depending on the sensibility of our skin. To make the tan last longer, you can also buy some particular bath foams that don’t wash the tan away. But not just in summer you can go to the beach; sea air is very good in every season. A holiday or just a week-end is ideal thing to breath better and admire the beautiful scenario that is the sea in winter, even if we won’t go to the beach with swimsuit and creams, ready to bathe and sunbathe.

Just a healthy walk, which can become very romantic if you are with your partner, on the beach or on the seafront, the ideal thing is to breath good quality air, fresh and clean. It’s not true that sea makes people nervous, I believe that seeing the sea in winter is an extremely nice experience, far from metropolitan cities chaos, and far from smog and confusion. If you want to spend some relaxed time, it’s a very good destination, even if entertaining in low season is not like in high season. As positive sides, you can surely count on accessible prices, because it’s not high season, so it could be a great gift idea for women.

Let’s also take the chance to try a different destination from the usual ski holiday on the mountains!

Selection of the Perfect Maternity Swimsuit

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Clothing

The approach to finding the perfect maternity swimwear for your ever changing pregnant shape is a whole different game than shopping for a pre-pregnancy swimsuit. First, the objectives are completely changed: instead of flattening out the belly and minimizing the waist, you are looking for comfort and stretch. Lots of stretch! However, one goal remains unchanged: you want to look your best and you want your suit to flatter your shape!

To best show off your changing shape and accent all the positive – your enhanced bust line and curvier curves, shop for a maternity swimsuit that can comfortably be worn from your 1st trimester through your 3rd trimester. Comfort, ease of fit and bust support are very important factors in choosing your suit. The last thing any expectant mother wants to feel is constricted by her clothes! Trying to fit into your former life pre-pregnancy suits is not only unflattering but may make it hard to breathe.

Prego Maternity is a specialty maternity swimsuit line with a wide variety suits from halter babydolls, tankinis, halterkinis, ring-kinis, one piece performance suits and even maternity bikinis. Prego’s swimsuits are made with 80% Nylon and 20% Lycra which allow a lot of stretch to fit women through all trimesters of their pregnancy.

Increasingly, many of the top maternity designers are finding their way into fashionable maternity swimwear such as Maternal America, Olian Maternity and Ripe Maternity. If you are shopping online for a maternity swimsuit, it is important that you find out if the suits contain about 20% Lycra to allow enough stretch. Also, review the store’s return policy on swimsuits as you cannot be sure until you try it on if it really fits.

A few tips in choosing your Maternity Swimsuit:

If you are a serious lap swimmer and are looking for a good performance maternity swimsuit, there is no substitute for your basic one piece suit. Prego Maternity’s Empire Tank is a good choice and also provides a good amount of bust support.

If you are looking to camouflage the hip and bottom area, go for a skirted style such as the Babydoll. Prego Maternity has a variety of solids and print patterns in the Halter Babydoll and the Babydoll Plus which is a tank style babydoll.

If you want to show a little belly but not bear all in a bikini, the tankini and halterkinis are a fun flirty style. Prego Maternity, Maternal America, Ripe and BellaBumBum make this style is wide variety of prints and solids. Hint: The larger prints are more flattering for bigger bellies!

If you want a little more room in the hip area, go for the side tie bottom 2 piece styles that can be adjusted as your shape changes. You can find these in the Tankini, Hipkini and Halterkini varieties. For bigger bust or more bust support, look for tank style tops with wide adjustable straps. Styles that fit higher on the back usually offer better support. The halter style is typically better for smaller to medium size bust with the exception of the Prego Halter Babydoll that does provide a good amount of support and has a larger cup size. Also, make sure that the suit you choose has ample room and stretch in the bust if you have another trimester or two to go!

Finally if you are one the brave beautiful bellied women who want to flaunt it all at the pool or beach, there’s the perfect maternity bikini for you! The advantage of the maternity bikini verses a regular bikini is that it is made with a lot more stretch and more room in the bust. The side tie styles also allow for more room in the hip area.

A maternity swimsuit is one item that every woman should have in their maternity wardrobe.

6 Tips on Buying Maternity Swimwear

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Women's Issues

If you plan on doing any swimming while pregnant or going to beach vacation destinations, one item you will need for sure is a maternity swimsuit. Although you may be able to get away with some non-maternity clothes such as empire tops or even squeeze into your husbands jeans for your regular wardrobe, you certainly don’t want to try and fit into your pre-pregnancy bathing suit or even think of wearing your husband’s swimwear! Here are a few tips to keep in mind when shopping for a maternity swimsuit:

1) If you are buying your maternity swimsuit bathing suit early in your pregnancy, then buy a little bigger than you need. Although you don’t want your suit to fall off or sag in the water and you certainly do want bust support, just remember that a tight fit will only get tighter as you progress in your pregnancy.

2) Buy a maternity swimsuit with plenty of stretch - especially where you need it in the belly, bust and hips. A lot of women forget that their bust size will increase, so you need a suit that will have enough room and support in the bust. Also, look for suits, such as styles by Prego Maternity, that are 20% Lycra, which will allow the maximum stretch.

3) If you are bigger in the hips, look for side tie options. Many women are not the same size from top to bottom, so if this is the case with your pregnancy figure, look for a suit with adjustable side ties for the hips. Many Hipkinis and Tankinis have this option for the bottom bikini.

4) If you plan on doing serious lap swimming, buy a one piece suit. Although strapless minis and cute babydoll suits can look great on the beach, these are not the best suits to wear in the pool for lap swimming. The Empire Tank by Prego Maternity is a super supportive and slick one piece suit that is a great option for lap swimming or water aerobics. Many women who plan on spending a lot of time at the pool or beach buy two suits - one for fashion and one for real swimming.

5) If you are bigger in the bust, make sure you get a suit with adequate bust support. Look for suits that have wider shoulder straps that are adjustable. Suits that come up higher in the back or even have an added bra-like clip support in the back, will give you more support in the bust. If you already are bigger in the bust, remember that you may increase up to a full cup size or more when pregnant. Also, look for suits that have some slight padding in the bust that will give you smoother shape and not show through when wet.

6) Don’t forget about swimsuit accessories. Maternity swimsuit cover-ups are an easy item to throw on over your maternity swimsuit when going to and from the beach and pool and can even double as great loungewear. Maternal America makes a number of great style swimsuit cover-ups and tunics as well as Board Shorts that can be worn over Bikini Bottoms.

Finally, don’t forget to try on your suit before you grab it for a vacation. Your pregnancy body changes at a rapid rate, so a suit that fit you perfectly 2 months ago, may suddenly be too small for you when you arrive at your vacation destination. Also allow enough time to shop for a maternity swimsuit before a trip because many maternity stores do not stock maternity swimsuits year round and it may take over a week to get one shipped to you when buying online. Also, you want to make sure you like your purchase when buying online, so allow time in case you need to exchange for another style or size.

Most of all do not let the task of maternity swimsuit shopping keep you from the pool or beach. Once you find the suit that is perfect for your body and style, you will feel confident wearing it. Enjoy the water!

Finding The Perfect Swimsuit!

Swimsuit-shopping may never be painless, but if you know what suits will look great on your shape, it can be bearable.

Here, the best styles for different body types:

If you’re pear-shaped… Try a tank suit with a bright color block on the top half. This will draw the eye up, minimizing your lower half. High-cut legs work well to make your legs look longer and leaner. Also, look for two-piece suits where the tops and bottoms are sold separately, since you might be a size smaller on top.

If you’re petite… A triangle-top string bikini will look great on you, as will a sportier two-piece with boy shorts and a bandeau top. Or go for a simple tank in a bright color or medium to small print.

If you’re straight up and down… A tankini or bikini with boy shorts is surprisingly flattering, as the shorts give your hips a bit of width. Or go for a tank with a belt or detail like a cutout at the waist, to give the illusion of a shapelier middle. Small bust too? Try a suit with details or patterns on top, which can make a small bust look fuller.

If you’re big on top… Try an athletic-inspired suit, or one that has a not-too-low scoop neck in front. Look for suits with built-in bras for support.

If you’re curvy or plus-size… Forget the plain black tank! Instead, go for a one-piece with a deep V-neck to show off cleavage, a halter top to maximize your feminine shape, or a two-piece with an adjustable string-tie bottom (you can customize the fit so it doesn’t pinch or pull). Separately sold tops and bottoms can also help you get a perfect fit.

If you have a bit of a tummy… Try a strapless tank in a dark color with a subtle tone-on-tone pattern. Or go for a trendy style this season: a shirred tank, with camouflaging gathers across the belly or to one side. A suit with details down the sides also takes the emphasis off your belly.

Now get out and find the suit that flatters you the most!
